So I'm supposed to think that every one of the upvotes my comments have received in this time was from a bot or troll? What a circular bit of reasoning that is, but not surprising from somebody who wants to blame an algo for his own modding behaviors.

Yeah, the 'algo' is just 'correcting' it. This is funny. Before I was flaired by AOU, I was able to get around 3,500 points in 3 months, and that score was never constantly dropping by increments. Now after the flair was applied, I barely get any upvotes because everyone is turned off by the scarlet letter of my poop flair, and the few votes that I do get are systematically removed within two days of getting them - as an 'algo correction'.

What a crock of shit.

Cue the 'internet points don't matter' crew. Then ask them why we have them at all, and why they require correction by an algo.

I've seen my score go down and upvotes be removed from my comments. Do you know what happened next? Fuck all, nothing, nada.

Idk, I'd guess because it encourages site engagement from people who don't have a better means of validation in their life? I suppose it has other uses for the site, but in terms of your score having an effect on you, it really doesn't need to.
