I've lived alot of places and the only truly happy and autonomous people I have seen were churchgoing people. Left alone their communities will last a thousand years. I am not a churchgoing person but I cant deny my experience.

I think it's backwards. I think it's that only truly happy and autonomous people spontaneously decide to get together at least once a week to talk about their shared culture.
