People are not more intelligent than beavers. Beavers build dams all their life. Then they give birth to new beavers who continue to build dams. This is repeating endlessly, because they can't understand that sooner or later they will die. If they could, they would stop building dams and giving birth to new beavers and just lying around awaiting to die. We have the same brains as beavers do. Even if we can discuss our mortality, we still can't comprehend it for real, this is why we continue to work and make children. The day somebody is able to comprehend for real that we are mortal, they become unable to function. Psychiatrists call it depression, but in reality it's not, it's simply the capacity to comprehend the reality.
