Today I learned FFMPEG was about to name their new release "Plandemic" (ffmpeg.org)

Should they have followed through?

Mike and VLC creator said no.

FYI - For all those who don't know, FFMPEG is a popular software for multimedia playback. Chrome uses it, and Youtube uses it in part of their pipeline. It's a very important software, up there with the likes of Gstreamer, Ghostscript, GNU pack, etc... Fabrice Bellard started the software, but its really Mike (current project lead) that made FFMPEG what it was today and contributed all the "major" features in ffmpeg.
