I just got out of a conversation with someone very upset at the new naming convention, and someone else ridiculing him for it, so I thought I'd share some thoughts.

Hey guys I get it, there's a lot of consternation on this front. It was a surprise, it's already been a few days, change is scary, it's inconvenient for certain aspects of communication BUT:

Consider the following benefits:

1) It helps to relieve you of preconceptions

You can interact purely with the content of the post as opposed to coloring your perception of it by the person who posted it.

2) It's fun to try and guess who everyone is by their writing style/ personality

3) You can just type your name if it really bothers you, or you want to differentiate yourself from another poster in the thread

Did this just now in the thread that made me want to post it

4) It's festive.

We all know what we signed up for. This is a quirky site run by quirky people, like most people who stay here. Be flexible in your expectations. Try it out. Just go with it for a bit without trying to fight it and you might be able to see some benefits.

Translation: Faggot-Supreme AOJew tried to make a "cute" joke, and now can't figure out how to un-do it without pouring gas on an already raging dumpster fire. Solution? "Hey fellow goyim Poal-Smokers, this is now a permanent feature!"

hmmmm... your comment seems disingenuous, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

No, I don't think it would be a good idea long term, but seriously you guys need to chill. It's only been a few days. It's fine. Like I said, quirky management, quirky members. Also, it was clearly a joke about being a permanent feature.... goodness. Anyway, have an upvote and a happy Easter!
