How do you fight the media? Well what does the media do? It lies. Then it lies. Then it lies some more. It makes people afraid. It works people into a frenzy. It fosters hate. It pits people against one another. It distorts reality/the truth. Media is societal cancer. We fight the media by helping them burn up their remaining credibility. I think tiki torches would be a fantastic start. Just bring them back in style. Give them the monster they are looking for, let them talk all the shit they want, and then do nothing.
