My older sister has common sense coming out of her ass. She's smart and resourceful and I have always looked to her for inspiration. But when Covid arrived at our doorsteps it was like she suddenly started gobbling down stupid pills. I make a point of not discussing it with her because we don't agree and there's no point in damaging our relationship, but the other day she asked if I was getting the vaccine and was shockedSHOCKED when I said that I was not. It was like she couldn't comprehend how someone would not get the vaccine.
She doesn't watch any TV but she does read a national daily newspaper that is as straight laced as they come but none the less carries the party line. I think that was all it took to cement the fear in her.
My father died a few months before Covid started. He pretty much lived and breathed CNN. I miss him but I actually think it's a blessing that he's not around now. The stress of the non-stop Covid reporting would have made his life a living hell.
