These idiots just audited 3 years of my life. So this year, i thought they would be lenient right? Nope, they are auditing me AGAIN, because they found some inconsistencies. Which then begs the question, what the hell was the point of wasting my time for the last year? Now these douche bags owe me money, and all of a sudden, they whip out the anti terrorist card and my refund is delayed for an additional 60 days.

For me they claimed they never received a return at all. This was back when you just sent your shit out by mail, if you weren't the type that was expecting a check you didn't give it another thought.

It's either pay them off to leave you alone or pay a lawyer to take the chance that you don't have to pay them too.

Since I've hired an Accountant they've left me alone.

I did hire an accountant this year, and they still audited me. The IRS is just another political organization at this point. Whenever they "owe" money, they drag it out for as long as humanly possible. If you are owed more than 5K from the IRS like me expect your refund check to take 6 months or more.

Possibly, the chances of a 4+ year continual audit is very unlikely if chosen at "random" like they claim
