As a continuation, or a part 1. This one involved a woman at the dog park. Anyways, she tried petting my dog. I told her my dog hates people and other dogs, and i am re training him to become more accustomed to his surroundings. Part of this requires a very slow, but steady, controlled focus on re immersing back into an environment with other dogs and people. I put him on a very short leash and let him roam in the lower populated parts of the park. However, he is always on a leash, and always observed, and moved away from others as soon as it shows to be a problem.

For some reason, she did not understand this, and kept trying to pet the dog, and the dog kept getting aggressive (understandably). I had told this woman at least 5 times he does not like getting petted. So she brought her dog to see if my dog was being playful. And its like, yes, i will let my dog play with others a few months down the road when he feels more comfortable in populated environments. NOT NOW THOUGH. But its like this woman simply did not understand or care about dog behavior. She almost felt insulted that i didn't just cave to her potentially dangerous impulses.

And then this woman ends it with a comment about how long ill keep the dog, as if im gonna send him to the pound for having anxiety? Seriously? Like 3 months in, not working, send the dog to the pound and get a new one? Are women this stupid nowadays?

Yeah, the guy has very hard anxiety from a prior abusive family. They tied him up to a tree and left him to die, so needless to say, he's not a super big fan of anyone. HOWEVER, that doesnt mean he's irredeemable, but he needs lot of training and reinforcement. This is why i tie him up, use a secluded region of the park, and minimize all reactions to controlled environments only on a very short (under 2 inches) leash.

It's so hard to hear about his past, but it's wonderful what you're doing for him. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. Dogs have so much love to give.

Its super insulting when this dumb bitch was like how long you gonna keep this up, as if i would stop loving my dog because he misbehaves. Like who the hell thinks like this? But then it reminded me how women repeatedly neglect their own kids and friends, if they dont get their me me me attention
