Okay, I figured, 'what is the most visible? THE BOW!' So I did this little piece real quicklike. My previous pressurewashing blasted off the worst of the bad old varnish I had neglected to oblivion, so sanding was pretty easy. Then I applied the custom sealer I just made, by adding some shellac to the transparent sealer I didn't like the color of previously, and
I have since added a coat of varnish, so that visible texture is more obscured, and after the next 6 or 8 coats, with fine sanding in between, will remove all the rest of that, so that it looks like a perfectly shiny flat surface. Then for ALL THE REST!
But at least I did something!
P.S. That cruddy looking line on the coachroof above that bit of brightwork is pretty much bare fibreglass. I just left it like that, because once this brightwork job is done, I can mask it off and repaint the decks, as per the plan. Weather is uncooperative, so at least I have that excuse, but today was really pretty, so I could do at least this much now...
