Stoicism explains that we have control about only two things: our judgement and voluntary actions. According to Stoicism, we can decide what events mean to us (our judgments) and how we want to react to those events (our actions). Our judgement allows us to understand how we can properly react to the events, also allows us to stay calm in case we can't react as we want, because negative emotions only hurt us.

Seneca's "On Anger" has been helping me gain a center and perspective lately. There is amazing relevance in Seneca's essays, people and our problems haven't changed much in 2000 years.

It's kinda comforting and infuriating at the same time. Life's problems aren't so mysterious or unique as they sometimes seem, but we still haven't managed to work beyond them as a society. Round and round we go, lol.
