Well, a traditional nation state is weak in comparison to that. So we are seeing government, mega-corporation, billionaire hybrid hierarchies forming in the west. Perhaps what we are seeing is two new types of governmental entities going to war with each other.
One side, at least (the west), seems to want nothing less than total domination over every human being on earth. Then there are the Chinese, who I'm told are actively genociding uyghur muslims and gaining an concerning amount of control over the United States government. How many bureaucrats got a promotion when they sold their soul to their new corporate master.
