In the past, geniuses were tolerated, despite their sometimes negative social tendencies, because of their contributions to the group. Now, academia is being filled with feminine bureaucrats, who can't tolerate dissension (literally they can't). Similarly, businesses are being trained to never hire the "brilliant jerk," which geniuses often are.

We are headed toward a nation of conformant, average, bug people.
