No I don't just mean virtual meetings. I also mean deep fakes. I've been learning the audio and visual technologies and it's really not that hard. They even have apps that make it easy to put your face on an actor's body. I don't think it would be that hard to just have a dial where you can turn up your attractiveness. and I wonder if it'll get to the point where no one knows what anyone else looks like anymore because they all use filters on their webcams. Everyone would be speaking through an avatar even though they're pretending that's the real them.

What happens when the power goes out? I envision a time when everyone has thrown away all their books/music, all because it is all online. What happens when they decide to take the internet away?

That'll happen in a few years anyway, when quantum breaks the backbone of security on the internet: public key cryptography.

This is defacto going to happen.

Not a 70% chance

Not an 80% certainty.

100% going to happen.

It's not an 'if' question. Its a "when" question.

And the answer is "soon".

Like 3-5 years type of soon.
