I don't know the full extent of the penalties and interest, but this information wasn't anywhere in the management dashboard, nor did it ever show up in the many credit checks I've had since then, including a business loan I received.

I'm not sure what happened, but my credit union somehow just found out about it and sent me a notification about it. They don't know anything other than there is some loan, and it's 3-4 years in default.

WTF? HTF? I could have paid this crap years ago had I known about it....

Does anyone here know anything about making it not worth it for these companies to try and collect on things like this? I'm guessing the late fees/interest are out of this world, and I do not want to pay for that shit.

You should have stored it yourself. Infinite? lol. All your free time? nonsense. A few minutes to save and backup documents after you sign them.

You should have stored, sorted, and had them ready to read.

Stop whining because you didn't do YOUR due diligence to track YOUR debts you CHOSE to take.

the scam in this case is that I'm supposed to check and recheck an infinite amount of times my paperwork to look for a change that i've never even heard possible in my entire life, and is explicitly conflicting with how this system is supposed to work, is fucking retarded and unreasonable.

your logic is not sound and i will not be changing any of my ways in response to your fallacious thinking here, as there is no feasible way to implement such a system to check arbitrary points with every single system I interact with to see if something like this happened.

i have a strong sense of personal responsibility, and i do not fall for the "life is what you make of it" "you get out of life what you put into it" "we have sophisticated scams in place to scam the public, and if we gaslight you enough times you must invoke your sense of personal responsibility".
