Been years since I've held a pair. Chain looks cool, and could block a knife, but seems to make movements less smooth. Chucks have a slow learning curve. It's really easy to bash yourself just practicing. Practicing with them is great for tbe wrists. If I needed to defend myself, I'd just hold them together and use them as a club. On the other hand, a tonfa is easy and intuitive.
