Coming back home walking through the back way. My manager is outside crushing boxes for the bin, wearing his mask. "Hey friend, why are you wearing your mask outside?" I proceed to tell him fresh air is the best thing for you. There's no virus in the air. "Oh I know" (no he doesn't) he tells me. "I have to wear it for all the buildings I go to so it's a hassle taking it off so I wear it all the time". I lean in, "You're conditioning yourself to wear it for the rest of your life" I tell him. He laughs sarcastically "No I'm not" as I just turn around with my milk and walk away.

"Yes you are"

Those were my last words as I disappeared back inside. I hope it rings loud on repeat, inside his head for the rest of the day.

I am willing to wear a mask inside of local businesses that I frequently patronize. Here's why.
It's not the business owner who will give me a hard time, it's the other patrons. While I don't give a shit what other people say about my mask-wearing, I really don't want to be even remotely responsible if the business winds up on a viral video and gets shut down or fined. It's hard enough for most of them to stay in business right now so I don't want to make it any harder.

I'm the opposite. Businesses I frequent I won't wear the mask and they never say anything. I discovered that the small business owners will look the other way. The low skill cashier on the other hand has something to say simply because they don't understand B2B relationships. I also have a large gray beard and perhaps psychologically that might also have an effect around other customers. I just look confrontational.

Ah, I miss the days when I had the long beard and long hair. Blending into corporate life really saps the strength out of a man.

Yeah, I was on a construction job for awhile and stopped shaving. That was around the time when Gillet came out with their anti-men ads. Fuck it. It grew out white while I'm still not very gray at all and wondered if I would get more street cred. I did. lol Now I seem to get away with more shit.
