That's not correct, the 'other cheek' stuff is to be understood personally, and spiritually, not on a 'war' basis, Christ wasn't foolish. The OT is a book of war and blood, and it is Christ's book.
it's not just that one verse. there's many verses that say don't spill blood, don't murder, pray for your enemies and love them
Right, but everything in context.
We aren't to take literally letting someone actually slapping us silly on the other cheek as we stand there like idiots.
Nor to give just anyone our cloak.
If we're not well versed on it, or at least follow someone we trust, we'll go astray and misinterpret. That's what theology is for.
Remember Christ clearing the temple with a whip..he wasn't a pacifist in everything.
'Turn the other cheek' is just war theory 101.
It doesn't mean 'never be violent ever', it means 'try everything else first'.
