The BIble teaches the followers of Christ to have faith in the all powerful God of the universe. Who cares if you die, God's plan is bigger than you and your soul is secured by God. No man can take that from you.
Romans 8:31
lmao. thank you for proving my point. that's called brainwashing you into submitting and not fighting back.
If you don't believe in a sovereign, then it sounds like nonsense.
But, assume for the moment that the God of the Bible does exist. If that's the case, then who cares if the bad guys get you, because "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever one sows, that will he also reap." - Gal 6:7. ie. you don't have to punish the bad guys, because God has that taken care of.
The notion that keeping your physical self alive is the ultimate good is NOT what the Bible teaches. The fate of your soul is most important, because your soul is eternal. This is antithetical to our physical instincts, so, naturally, we view the focus on the soul over the physical as illogical.
Again, you hear this and it sounds like fools brainwashed into inaction. The deciding factor is faith. Christians may not be able to prove the existence of a God, but if he really does exist, you're the fool and they are legends. Neither side as any more or less evidence to prove/disprove the existence of a God. So, it all comes down to what you decide to believe.
