There were things on voat that needed to be tempered. The migration to here created an amalgam that made for an improvement.

Poal is better in some ways and worse in other ways.

Ways Poal is better:

  • More diverse community, it's much easier to find people who have the same obscure beliefs that I do about the nature of things
  • Far better coding and development
  • Better owner, I see him posting and replying all the time and putting actual effort in, it's great to see
  • Basically no downtime, site always runs smoothly
  • Way less of those dumbass annoying posts where people are @'ing someone in the title
  • Less hostile, you can actually make comments without some retard attacking you for literally no reason

Ways Poal is worse:

  • Subs such as MDE, SBBH, etc. were far more active and really the highlight of Voat for me, I miss those communities
  • Ironically, I trusted Voat far more - despite all of the toxic and annoying behavior, I knew Voat was the real deal. Poal? I don't know if I trust it yet, this could all be some ploy to gather data or something that's yet to be seen
