It already has. Some are responding by auctioning off expensive works of art in their collections by well-know white artists and using the proceeds to buy less expensive pieces made by non-whites. This is a practice that would normally be prohibited but one of the rule changes that was made in response to the covid shutdowns was to allow museums to sell items in their collection to pay for operations costs.
Patronage is a minor form of income for museums. They get their cash from rich people donations.
