Sadness grounds a man to reality. But, he should not dwell on it. He must discover what is making him sad, then either change it, or realize that the cause cannot be changed. In the latter case, the man must learn acceptance.

I disagree, sadness is not intrinsic. Sadness is the state of mind people would let themselves into because they don't want to give up the feeling that bonds/connects them to the very reason they are sad.
