Presumably a lot of these archaeologists are men of religion. I would venture to guess all religions forbid desecrating graves. Even if that's not the case or a person is not religious it seems wrong to do. Egyptians went through a hell of a lot of work to place these bodies where they rest and that should be respected. They should be left alone.

How can they desecrate something that is not sacred? Only an ancient egyptian would believe it to be sacred.
