Presumably a lot of these archaeologists are men of religion. I would venture to guess all religions forbid desecrating graves. Even if that's not the case or a person is not religious it seems wrong to do. Egyptians went through a hell of a lot of work to place these bodies where they rest and that should be respected. They should be left alone.

Obligatory 'it belongs in a museum." In one way, if they get museuemed up, they get the immortality they wanted. I don't agree with taking them out of the sarcophagi and doing shit on em. That does seem pretty fucked up.

You're trying to decide what they wanted. Obviously they wanted to be left where they were. You're making up justifications which is what everybody does for everything.

From my point of view, as if I was in their shoes/sarcophagi, I would rather have my remains remain unmolested instead of paraded about like the mummies were in the 30s and 40s

Thats it, thats all I was saying.

Hundreds were stolen from graves and parts were hacked off and sold to tourists and I think thats fucked up. Modern museums show a little more care, but fuck it, what ever floats your justification boat.
