I really thought we would never have an ideological purge in the US. I thought we had learnt from the past, from the Holodomor and Mao and Pol Pot. But now that I think about it, I bet all those people who got purged also thought they had learned from the past.

The only way you can destroy an idea is to destroy every one who holds (((believes))) that idea. Hard choices will be required.
