His WH press pass was revoked because of the fact that he used force to hold a microphone that doesn't belong to him and thus selfishly monopolized the time imparted for other reporters.
Now check how reporters reacted when Obama did use security to expel a reporter saying "No more deportations".
Ah, see there is a key peace of information. And it's typical for Jim Acosta to be a time hog, trying to keep himself in the spotlight as much as possible at these press events so I'm not surprised. But even the white house is trying to hide behind "violence against women" as the reason for revoking his credentials.
Sarah Sanders confirmed Acosta's tweet in a statement, claiming the suspension of his press credentials stemmed from his "placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern."
I think what he actually did (video in the fox link), is grounds enough without having to hide behind a fake reason.
edit: I love when Trump starts to lay into him.
CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person who should not be working for CNN. [...] The way you treat Sarah Huckabee [Sanders] is horrible. And the way you treat other people is horrible. You shouldn’t treat people that way.
By firmly holding it, pulling it against his own chest (away from her), and putting his second hand on hers can be considered as a use of dissuading and antagonizing force against someone else in their right to take that microphone away.
