They come in different brightness levels and I always buy the lowest wattage I can find. You can light like half a house for the cost of 1 of the older bulbs.
The only thing that I don't like about LED bulbs is they give off an EMF frequency and dirty up the home's electricity.
I tried replacing some CFL bulbs with LED bulbs (can lights in the kitchen, specifically). The LEDs shit themselves in a couple of months.
I was trying to replace the old CFLs piecemeal as they died. Maybe that's where I went wrong? Or maybe LED bulbs don't like being in cans.
I dunno, I'm not an electrician.
They intentionally overcurrent the LEDs to generate more heat and kill them quicker. There's bulbs sold in Dubai with double the LEDs, running at half the current, which last much longer than normal bulbs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klaJqofCsu4
