Today I had to change some light bulbs. I was able to find only led bulbs. You can't simply look at them, because they make your eyes blind from the light they produce. Fuck this shit. Unfortunately there are no regular light bulbs available where I live.

Have you tried wearing sunglasses indoors, bigot?

they are absolutely cunting on the eyes.... i'm also sick to death of cars with blinding white / bluish headlights that look like they're on high beam constantly... i don't know how the fuck they're road legal.

Many of them are not. To be legal they have to be properly installed, which means they can't be pointed directly at oncoming drivers.

Either do I... Now we have those accent light strips, too. They do jack shit for the driver to see the road. But glare in my eyes all the fucking time.

Don't even get me started on the faggots with the flashing tail lights. Don't.

You can get led lights that favor the red spectrum, and they are easier on your eyes.

Well thats your problem. Your look at lit light bulbs.

That's what we thought too - until dimmers were installed. Now we love them.

You do have to buy the "warm" color spectrum and make sure they are dimmable. Where dimmers are not possible, go for the Edison low wattage type. LED bulb designs are getting much better quite quickly and beat the heck out of those curly innard monstrosities foisted on the public a few years back. Of course, if you need heat output you're fucked.

They come in different brightness levels and I always buy the lowest wattage I can find. You can light like half a house for the cost of 1 of the older bulbs.

The only thing that I don't like about LED bulbs is they give off an EMF frequency and dirty up the home's electricity.

I tried replacing some CFL bulbs with LED bulbs (can lights in the kitchen, specifically). The LEDs shit themselves in a couple of months.

I was trying to replace the old CFLs piecemeal as they died. Maybe that's where I went wrong? Or maybe LED bulbs don't like being in cans.

I dunno, I'm not an electrician.

They intentionally overcurrent the LEDs to generate more heat and kill them quicker. There's bulbs sold in Dubai with double the LEDs, running at half the current, which last much longer than normal bulbs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klaJqofCsu4

Interesting. That was quite informative. Thanks
