I don't use snow tires. I'm fine.
The #1 thing people need to learn is not be a nigger with the breaks. Drive like you don't have them unless you're below ~15 MPH (when there is a decent amount of snow on the ground).
The snow is going to slow you down faster than your breaks are, but you need traction for that to be true. The breaks remove 100% of your traction and make it nearly impossible to gain back. ABS doesn't help even remotely. That's for moist pavement.
Yeah, the other problem is that you need people around you to be able to drive in the snow. You could be a transplant from Alaska, but if you go to Georgia when a freak snowstorm hits, good luck driving anywhere without some other idiot slamming into you.
