Thinking about ditching my "smart phone". One thing I have noticed in the last few days is that all of the photos and videos of politicians posted since Wednesday have these people talking on flip phones. The picture of Shumer during the evacuation, and just now the video of Graham in the airport. I get it, they are old as fuck but, even my inlaws, who are still trying to figure out VCR tech still have a smart phone. I know they are data mining and using tracking on them to trace our movements, but thought this was interesting. I wonder if anyone has pics posted somewhere of these same people using smart phones prior to Wed.

I have one as a backup but after putting $100 on it, it got hacked (would automatically do data transfers eating up my minutes). My carrier didn't do shit about it, and then the minutes expired after a year so it was a total fucking waste. I guess I'm saying don't get a plan like I had.

Are there any companies that let you just pay by the minute without a monthly fee? I want to get one just for online verification texts, but all the ones I have seen need you to pay at least $30/ month

I don't know searches keep coming back with wifi flip phones with an unlimited plan (no different than a smartphone at that point.

Sopranos makes it look like you can walk in a store and buy a flip with pre-loaded minutes, maybe they are cutting back on that.
