Can anyone notice a difference in poal since voat arrived? cause it doesnt feel like voat arrived.

a few years ago i used to be someone who would find main headlines and try to be first to post. then i found that others were competing to do so i was happy to turn over the reigns in more creative pursuits.

maybe its just the holidays? maybe voat going down has had a strong demoralization effect?

if my post gets moved thats ok

im liking this place much better but i only joined voat a month before it closed

voat loved to downvote bomb people, i suspect there was a group of power uses manipulating the site to drive new people away, it the smart thing 3 letter agency to do really, voats system was very easily gameable and if they just larped as nazis and downvoted new people they would push them back to main stream social media, i suspect the reason voat closed down was because it just stopped working, new people where staying after being downvote bombed and means the larping agents are just going to be radicalising more real people so the plug was pulled, not really sure about this site yet but it seems alright, i think the reason for so many people wanting to change the rules on downvoting is so they can start to control this site, currently its harder to censor a post

and yeah, we are still in holiday season, i suspect rural america makes up a big part of voat and poals userbase and if they went to visit family over the holidays they still might not be back yet, hopefully some of the voat refugees went back to more mainstream platforms to wake people up, personally im just going add decent comments like back in the old days of reddit to make this place a better alterative

Voat was great. It had geh days but not too many to run everyone off. Most people that couldn't handle it found out during the standard welcoming ceremony and left. It took me about a month to understand voat's schizophrenia.
