They'll make far more money learning a trade.

Skilled welders make well into 6 digits. As do electricians.

So what the fuck kind of reply is that?

The cost of either of those 2 degrees + the time required to obtain them is absolutely enormous and offsets any potential difference for all but the top end of either field.

You said someone would make more money in trades, and while that's possibly true in some cases, it's not true in all.
