Skilled welders make well into 6 digits. As do electricians.

The cost of either of those 2 degrees + the time required to obtain them is absolutely enormous and offsets any potential difference for all but the top end of either field.

I work in the trades. I shake my head in sadness everytime I see a young women, who is always White, driving a fucking dump truck.

These women are giving up nurturing a family to drive around all day, making average money...

Women should go to college. Meet their husband, drop out and raise a family. If my daughter did this I would be so happy.

Edit: ideally they would meet someone at church but there is a conspiracy theory that White birthrate is low. Not many options at my church.

I worked trades for over a decade until I went to school to be an engineer (out of pocket).

When I worked trades there were not many women, the ones that were mostly were butch, single mothers that knew trades would pay enough to get by, OR women that wanted to be in proximity to men. I think I may have encountered 2 exceptions.

Ok boomer. Very cool. Things have changed since you put on your white hat. In my city women are pushed into the trades and it's showing. Very common to see women tri axle drivers, stream roller operators and city bus drivers.

Women are the backbone of the family unit. Working the trades is tough. Even you left for greener pastures.

Men make that sacrifice so their wife doesn't have to. If you're a women and you are really set on a trade, look to healthcare. There are a lot of jobs in healthcare that are more suited to women's schedules and needs.

It hasn't changed that much in 10 years, I'd be surprised to see any construction site with even 10% women workers.

Equipment operators and trades are separate. Much easier to get a ticket to operate a forklift or steam roller then it is to become a journeyman plumber (for ex). I have yet to encounter a female plumber that could not be confused as a man from behind.

Working trades IS tough work, but rewarding both psychologically and financially. I got out of trades more for physical reasons than I did for financial reasons (though the financial benefits did come eventually).

There are alternates, which is why my observation that many / most women in trades are either butch, single mothers or slutty women that like working in an area where they get a constant stream of Male attention.

I’ve got a four year degree in forestry and make a pretty good living. I spent a lot of time in the woods and I’m in the office when ever the weather sucks outside. Going to college was a very good thing for me. It can be hell for others. If you go to college make sure you know what job you’re going to get when you graduate and make sure there are lots of them. Not every degree as a job you can do day one after graduation.

Around these parts, women have a hell of a time getting into the trades. They go to school and get the education then they can't get a job. The owners of these places don't want women working there. The work is often dangerous and they don't want their men distracted by a female on the site. Food got thought: There was a seamstress who owned a shop in town. When the owner retired, there was no one to replace her. Muh 2 cents.

College works well in theory, but it's become a scam. You get a free loan when you're 18 years old for 6 figures, they promise you that you can study anything you want and you'll pay the loans off within a few years. Then you graduate, can't find a job that pays what you were promised, then you're stuck working some shit job that doesn't use your education for years just to pay off the debt to get your education. Meanwhile, you could have bought a house with the money spent on education, but instead, you're paying off debt, renting an apartment.

The problem is politically, a degree is required for most jobs. Want to become a senator, mayor, etc, and you will get reemed for being an uneducated dumb fuck. At the same time, college degrees are 90% SJW crap nowadays, in my days they were already loading up 50% of the common core with only SJW classes. However, to make a difference in the kike system, you will in fact need a degree to get into the high up positions to make any type of decision

Incoming questionable, yet practical opinion:

Young adults can get entry positions at large corporations if any exist nearby. The sooner they see the fraction that is take home pay, the sooner they will drop the infatuation with socialism. Furthermore they can start an IRA earlier even if they need to pause contributions later (set and forget). Lastly there will most likely be tuition reimbursement programs offered by the employer so they can continually raise their skill stack.

I expect to be skewered for not recommending they throw themselves on the gears on the machine.
