Finally did it. Acre of land, walking distance to the river, a dairy down the street, and only one neighbor. Country living. Out of the city. Cant believe it happened as quick as it did.

Put up some solar, or generate by hydro on the river if possible. Pump your own water, and grow your own food.

Look into "wood gasification", you can generate electricity this way using a generator powered by burning wood. It also allows you to burn wood more efficiently if you have a wood stove indoors.
