He's likely ready and just not ready since the action is likely 3 days away on tuesday wednesday and then he'll be ready to pull the pin on that grenade as the saying goes. Premature and you're exhausted when it's go time, he's just not wasting his time yet and realizes he'll know from sounds or the power going out "put on the generator" or a loud mob approaching and likely will have a bunch of other neighbors to get by to get to him with deminished numbers and ammo by then.
