I mean, I remember the 2008 election. The cast was pretty curious back then- Sarah Palin wasn't a savvy operator, nor did she have a strong background. John McCain seemed beyond out of touch and had the charisma of a liver spot.

McCain's platform was pretty nebulous. If you were going to vote for McCain, you were going to vote for more middle east wars. Everything else was kinda murky at best and had all the hallmarks of a person who couldn't sell themselves or their platform on the best days.

But in the end, he was the best that one side had to offer. It made it so that it was a relatively one-sided outcome to the election. And I remember thinking, who would support John McCain - he can't really sell anyone on any of his points except for the diehard party supporters. The media wasn't especially kind to McCain, but it was darling to Obama. And it felt like, if you weren't a supporter of either party there was really only once choice to be made- who the heck wanted to stay in the sandbox?

I would surmise that was played up as a reason why everyone should go with whatever Obama said. He was elected with the 'mandate of the public' and was able to push through a great deal in a very short time.

I kinda feel like that with Trump right now. I don't like Sleepy Joe and his VP pick is particularly uninspired. Joe's platform is also more or less murky. All I can tell you is that he's against Trump and the platform he's campaigning on is that he's not Trump.

You've got the odd Q underground (now mainstream-ish) movement pushing for Trump with a cult-like enthusiasm for 'trusting the plan'. Most people are having their biases confirmed by the MSM, which haven't changed their tune since day 1. Once again it feels like there's a sort of zeitgeist which says that it feels like there's only one side to vote for if you're not a diehard supporter of one party or the other.

I wonder if the populist platform of Trump will be used to force through things in the same manner - the people voted for me, therefore my actions have the support of the people! Do as I say!

Does anyone else feel this way?

It's all pretty routine except for the BLM and antifa terrorists who have swayed people so hard to one side that I am really hoping the DNC will be forever crushed by what they have done in the last few years. The DNC is a steaming pile. Everything they do and stand for is the opposite of what America needs. I just hope enough people from the left realize how corrupt and hypocritical that party is and always was.
