You wanna read a fascinating manifesto. It's long but it's worth a read, the unibomber was undoubtedly crazy but he was also incredibly brilliant. This was written back in 95' but really feels like he nailed everything that's come since.
For most of life, it is improbable, random, brutish and short. It is up to those who can see better to lead. Life has the meaning you give it.
Sometimes you have to give up aspects of yourself in order to grow. Often growth is inhibited by peers who expect you to act the same. True friends allow for changes, but I digress.
If you truly find yourself isolated, work on your inner self. Identify your flaws and gaps in knowledge and work on them. I won't go and say I'm an exemplar of this philosophy, but I know that it works when you choose to apply it.
It's good that you reached out, you might be surprised that many others have similar feelings.
Hey dude. Everything about life leads to death. Well sheeit. Make the most of what you can, while you can, or become a socialist leech. Life doesn't suck when you're self sufficient. It's tougher these days, though.
Study human history and discover that these are the best of times. With exceptions, we have it better than anybody before us. Pick the earlier decade or century, any of your choosing. Prove you wrong? ...easily.
I'm talking about this world, as a whole, not just: "in this day and age." Read back what I've said, and apply it to all of human history, if you must. If these are "the best of times," then holy shit: you just knocked my point out of the park for a triple-home-run. (super late reply, haven't been on my computer much lately)
