I like that "the right or power to act as one chooses" is a fucking sword. Seems appropriate and correct - very good.
But as we live in the modren world, and within the walled garden of our society, shouldn't the Right Power be more properly depicted by a gun? One of those scary, "tactical black #7" fully automated assaulters' rifles that can fire billions of bullets every second, and have the power to annihilate whole orphanages with every pull of the trigger?
Make no mistake, I respect the sword as a weapon; the wounds it doles out tend to be less treatable than the small holes punched by most commonly available forms of bullet; and wielding one about the place is certainly jolly good fun and guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any decent person, but lemme tell you: when it comes time to exercise my power the right way, I'm loading a belt into the MG08 and giving fools the whole nine yards.
As a small side-benefit: the machine-gun is actually a scary black colour, and makes an absolutely wonderful racket when fired.
The downside is that I'm sitting on several thousand rounds of 8mm mauser and I've a severe shortage of valid targets.
A weapon is the extension of oneself
It can be anything, from a hand, to a pen, to a chair, to a blade, to a gun, to a car
Even words can qualify as a weapon under a given set of circumstances
"Always hit with something before hitting with your body" is one of the best advice I can think of in terms of combat
This is a cinematic illustration of what a combat style almost entirely based on that principle would look like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebFFSOkwsFU
I've long maintained that I don't hit people with my fists; I hit them with the world.
Many mistake this for a charming bit of philosophy, when in truth it's an exaltation of the grappling arts.
Not many people, in my experience, remain all that tough after having their face rammed at high speed into the floor.
One of the worst and cheapest attack that can be inflicted on a big guy is to make him fall, especially in a flight of stairs
It's even worse when he has to play landing mat
