Just going to weigh in here cause... eh What the fuck, Its an opinion board anyway. Ive seen a lot of posts that come down really negatively on tattoos and I can understand that POV. Lots of people who have them ARE shit birds but they serve another purpose as well. They can be gentle reminders of those that are no longer here with us. I have 3 of them. they all represent my wife and God both of whom reside together in Heaven now. They aren't ostentatious or even visible unless I am shirtless. They are on the tops of my upper arms and are very simple. There are my wife's initials, the number 555 in red. The name “Jesus” is composed of five letters. On the cross, He received five wounds. The biblical meaning of 555 refers to God’s grace blessing us through Jesus Christ, who died for the people’s sins. The Cross is on the opposite arm and is pretty self explanatory. I never had any tattoos on my body til I lost her. They are gentle reminders to me that I will see her again and that God always has control. If that makes me trashy, guilty as charged.
At this point we all have one common enemy, liberals and those who create them. A tattoo is probably more of an indicator of being conservative or punk conservative than liberal.
You may very well be right. I am speaking only for myself but there are others like me.
if you need some ink to remember those you loved and lost you just might have a weak mind
So using your logic We should probably remove all the Presidential portraits, statues etc, The Mona Lisa, all artwork Commemorating Christ, the last supper, the Crucifixion etc right? Because Anyone needing those "reminders" must have a weak mind right?
yep. like presidents are the same as the people that you love and were close with, seems like a kike response
just some friendly advice, you narcissistic sociopath, call your mother today
who the fuck got the george washington tattoo so they wouldnt forget him?
The bible literally forbids tattoos honoring the dead. I have one for my dad. I regret it.
Do they give a reason in the bible?

I guess you could simply a reason, but none is really given. The practice was and still is common in many cultures, with some attaching more significance and methods varying. In the bible it specifically forbids cutting or marking yourself for the dead. If you look up "african scarification" you can see these things are still pretty common. People did that to their faces and still do. I think that is what God was talking about when He commanded not to "mar" your beard. He was not talking about ridiculous faggoty sidekicks. He was talking about not practicing scarification.
Well then, thankfully for both us Jesus forgives right?

Exactly. God has requirements of righteousness we should seek to fulfill, but without the atonement Jesus provides we have no ground to stand on when we fall short. Jesus gives me a reason to keep trying to please my Creator.
