Stumbled on this today purely out of "well fuck, let's try this and see what happens".

Default web interface kept giving error connection lost. Was poking around in remote settings to make sure I had everything right, which I did, and noticed an option to get more interfaces. Tried Chorus on a whim and it worked.

What to look for in TV's to have what you have?

Here you go! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Electronics_Control

The remote can browse Kodi directories / links with arrow keys, can go "back" etc, but most importantly can play / pause / stop and fast forward / next and all that. I have dietpi that autoboots into Kodi. I never touch a keyboard or mouse at all! I use a PC to download stuff to the pi's USB, but also have incursion / gaia and all that setup in Kodi too. It is a sweet setup.

You don't even have to configure the pi or Kodi. It just works. I think in the TV settings you need to enable the CEC or put on auto. And need a good HDMI cable that supports it IIRC.

Just remembered, had some cables that did not work so changed to high quality gold plated ones.

I have only one hdmi cable, I don't know the quality. I tried it and got no audio, so I just used a VGA and a separate audio line.

I saw in this TV's settings something about PC settings, but saw nothing about CEC. Don't know when or if we'll be getting another new TV, but will definitely look into this if/when we do.
