Northerners use a hand crank can opener by attaching it to the top of the can, cutting just the lid itself, leaving the rim on the can.

Southerners attach the hand crank can opener on the side of the can with the crank handle on top, actually cut the side of the can so the top + the rim is cut off and may be reused as a lid.

The Southern way seems easier than the Northern way.

I just bought this nigger at like 15 bucks a few years ago. It actually makes canned goods easily store able and reusable containers. It just pops the seem on the welds/seal. Easy peasy. I wouldn't pay that much for it tho... it's neat but that shit is a jewish af price.

This (amazon.com) is roughly what I've been using lately. Much cheaper than yours! My last electric burned out a few years ago and I dug up a 60+ year old can opener I found in my folks junk ... Made In America grade stuff. Figured I might as well use it, it will sell for 50¢ or go in the trash when I'm gone.

BTW, welcome back!

Oh and ty, just needed to clear my head.

It's cheaper and works every bit as well but I bought mine for the novelty. The removeable lid just pops perfectly back in place b/c it was engineered to and looks like an unopened can. I've got a couple with rainy day cash in corn cans (not literally) on my top shelf. Thieves don't steal corn generally.

They do now....

I've always used one.

That's because you are a southern hick....

These are two different types of can openers. I'm northern and I only recently discovered the side opener. I didn't know this was a regional thing. The southern (side opener) one is way better imo.

My old school bare bones (amazon.com) can opener will work on the side and the top.

Nice.

This is the side opener I bought not too long ago.

So southerners are too poor to afford super cheap plastic storage containers at Walmart?
