When you build a home, building, or other “development” structure in most counties in Colorado, you must pay a fee to the local school district in addition to all your other town, county or municipality fees. I knew you had to apply for building permits (County only if unincorporated, town/city and county if incorporated), tap fees, use fees, sales tax on building supplies purchased outside city limits, etc. Just one more reason building homes is too expensive. “Development fees” are taxes. Taxes are theft.
