I think that bitchute wanted to be like a YouTube competitor, not our personal based video hosting service. As you mention, being based in the UK is bad for that latter thing.
They are too small to be a competitor, they are just the backup system for videos that in danger of getting deleted by YouTube.
BitChute has gained a lot of popularity in the last two years. Many people, myself included, got in the habit of sharing the BitChute video even if it was still up on YouTube.
Especially because with the various Covid videos hosted there and shared across social media uncensored vs YouTube that was taking everything down.
Yeah, BitChute is a great option to have and they've been there for us and they're not out right deleting everything.
They're still raising in web rankings because they're easier to use than other options and back everything up from YouTube. One of the biggest complaints is them not offering 1080p.
But we need to focus on either LBRY/Odysee or PeeTube instances. Both are open source, decentralized/federated, and p2p.
