Both the district court and the court of appeal convicted SD politician Bertil Malmberg after he presented facts about the IQ levels of Sudanese. Now the Prosecutor General wants the case to be raised by the Supreme Court.

SD politician Bertil Malmberg was charged with incitement to hatred after he presented facts about the IQ levels of Sudanese. Malmberg was subsequently convicted in both the District Court and the Court of Appeal of the offence of "incitement to hatred".

Malmberg has appealed to the Supreme Court, and now the Prosecutor General's Office (RÅ) wants the case to be taken up by the Supreme Court for a precedent-setting ruling, as Samnytt's Mats Dagerlind was the first to point out.

RÅ believes that a clear provision is needed stating that it is not allowed to discuss IQ levels of different peoples, as it can be "offensive". On the other hand, RÅ believes that it is possible to discuss "education levels".

A conviction of Malmberg in the Supreme Court would de facto prohibit discussion and research on IQ differences between people in Sweden.

Yea, goolag is prolly the best in terms of tech, but touching that thing comes with the risk of getting gay pox. Evetually I want to degoogle completely but using an Android so would have to root it and use another app store (prolly will fix it for my next phone). Thanks for taking the time to translate and archive 👌

If it would go through Supreme Court, it could eventually perhaps go up to the EU court.

One thing that is shameful for Sweden is that, even though I really really hate the EU, they actually protect freedom of speech better than Swedish courts. This happened (from memory) previously when a priest cited some particularly "anti-homosexual" verses from the Bible on radio, according to the supreme court he was guilty to "hate speech" but later it was raised to the EU court and they ruled that what he said was not illegal.

So even if the EU court is kiked, it may be somehow less kiked than courts in Sweden. I know that will be hard to believe :p
