Do you mean Laudanum, by any chance? It's an opium tincture and I remember that it was used in 'From Hell' 2001. Had to look up "Laudanum in movies" and 'Tombstone' features prominently in the results.

Just imagine, this shit used to be OTC, right when there was real cocaine in Coca-Cola and Bayer sold Heroin as a cough relief. Wild times.
