SPOOKY SCARY THREAD, feb 2019
P: Bible mentions ghosts, but in the context of "gave up the ghost". like not spectral ghosts or entities that haunt things, but specifically that phrase. pretty limited.
P: in cultures, ghosts are seen as scary, the remains of the dead, things of dread and horror. even though how exactly could they hurt anyone? they pass through walls or throw things around, that kind of doesn't... line up. if ghosts are people with irl noclip, then how come they limit themselves to only one particular zone? if i had irl noclip, i'd go EEEEVERYWHERE. and i wouldn't waste my time sitting around haunting some restaurant.
P: local ghost stories talk about ghosts that are stuck in routine. there's a supposed 'haunted restaruant' where at some hour like 3am (where i never seen anything cool happen), spooky ghosts have ghost dinner or something. or there's some other place i forgot with some 'victorian ghost' who wears victorian wear and likes to throw CDs around because 'she hates modern technology". okay why.
P: who decided that ghosts are scary and eerie when they can't hurt you? who decided that ghosts can only wear period costumes instead of be naked? what, do clothes have spirits? why do ghosts only hang around one spot instead of see the world? i thought ghosts could yell at people to 'go away'. so if they can interact with people, why do they want everyone to go away.
P: discuss.

P: what are your thoughts on trepanning?
IB: I remember they always brought it up in school to talk about "Look how far medicine has come! We're so advanced! People in the past were stupid, thinking the mentally ill were witches and burning them alive, doing all kinds of silly things. We even used to lobotomize people in the recent past!"
IB: Those skulls could be anything. Manufactured after death or from a murder.
IB: As for the practice itself I have no idea if there's anything to it or not. It seems like surgery on the head but without fixing the skull afterwards.
IB: The premise of surgery is sound - cut out the bad bits of the body, thus the body will heal and replace the removed portions. The problem with surgery is almost all the time (or all the time?) the problem can be solved with less invasive and more helpful measures - like improving diet, getting the nutrients necessary to heal it. The body is extremely good at healing itself. Bones can heal - which is kinda amazing if you think about it - the fundamental support structure of the body can heal itself. They say teeth can't be healed or replaced but that doesn't seem right - if we can heal our bones then surely teeth would be easier. Haven't looked into it that much, but supposedly 'trisodium phosphate' helps.
IB: If something truly nasty or paranormal infested part of the body then surgery might help? I remember them saying 'primitive peoples' believed Trepanation could excorcise demons. Then again I think I heard that the trannies cut out part of their body in order to become possessed by a demon. Maybe the results would be different with different tools and materials.
H: Could be drilling into the skull to remove certain brain organs for hormone harvest. Not sure.
IB: Ah that's right. I remember seeing a copypasta youtube comment saying that growth hormones are extracted from corpses. That autopsies are a cover for cutting off the top of the skull, harvesting 'cadaver growth hormone' from the pituitary glands. Then glue it shut and call it a day. The idea of morgues is very strange now that I think about it too.
H: Did you happen to see that by a person named dylan ellis aka here tickery? (Here tRickery)
IB: It was from reuploads of 'Aaron Dover' that was talking about atmospheric electricity, church spires being electricity masts, WTC having no floors etc. I think they were related to them somehow?
H: Yes thats here tickery.
H: Yup. They give so many autopsies when its not needed... just to take out human juices
H: Trepanning is 55 in pythagorean
IB: Local ghost stories just seems like an easy topic they can use to just make up stories and not get called out on it. They can easily say "well maybe there's a rational explanation but I think it was ghosts" and they seem superstitious rather than a liar. The ghosts never hurt anyone but they're so vaguely described and barely seen that they might be able to, it's just they ran away before they got a chance. Maybe ghost stories are also about people who faked their death but needed to grab something before they moved onto their new life.
IB: To me ghosts are just a category of undead monsters, like skeletons, zombies, vampires, liches. They have regrets from when they were alive that are preventing them from moving on and are powering their presence. Or their soul was ensnared by some necromancer before they had a chance to move on. They do use some energy source so it's basically like they're living creatures with weird body composition. The only real difference is that they have specific undead weaknesses (e.g. light, holy, healing) and were truly alive before their transformation. Another thing is the undead use the idea of disease. Graveyards that aren't tended right or abandoned battlefields are spots that could turn into an undead hive if sufficient energy builds up.
H: Theres also the thing about Holy Ghost vs Holy Spirit. Still not sure about the distinction if any
