Maybe
I was in NYC (i've never lived there, visited once). I entered an apartment building, went up an elevator and got to a room down the hall. I knocked on the door. My buddy opened the door. The room was about the size of a large hotel room, and full of my classmates. There was a large window overlooking the fancy bridge in NY. The meeting had begun.
We had gathered because for some reason everyone's eyes in the whole world all at once on day changed into one of two colors. Gold eyes, or red eyes, which gave some people super powers. We had a mixed group in here, gold and red. My close buddy's eyes were red, and mine were gold. We were scheming to see what we would like to do now that the whole world was in disarray and there was essentially no school and the world was at our fingertips. some of the people in our friendgroup got insanely strong powers and we were making a plan on how to combine our powers and change the world. Or at the very least, survive the world.
As the conversation went on, i didnt like the energy or direction the conversation was going. I dont remember the conversation, but they were getting manic about it. It didnt sound like a good plan, and I didnt like who I turned into. I wanted to be back to my old, normal self. No one wanted to turn back, everyone hated being human in the room and were talking poorly about how much it sucked to be human and that it was great there were no more humans alive.
As they prattled on I went to a corner of the room to meditate. I sat down, crossed my legs and made circles with my fingers and hummed to myself until I entered a trance. My mind entered a totally silent, black space. Wandering around, I discovered a vault door. I knocked on it, and it opened. On the other side looked like rolling hills with a well maintained orange orchard on it. the sky was sunny, there was a red farm house in the distance, and before me stood an older gentleman, white, weathered by the sun, blue overalls, white shirt and a hat for keeping the sun off, draped behind him hanging loosely on his neck by a leather string. He looked very kindly and directly into my eyes, chewing a piece of straw.
"Hey there girly, I heard you had some questions. Why dont you step into my office?"
So i step into the vault, and the door shuts, leaving my consciousness behind to ponder things in the dark for a timeless moment. When I emerge, the Farmer helps me get out through a short latter from his side and gives me a big handshake. "I'm sure glad we got a chance to talk. I hope this old man was able to impart at least some knowledge onto you." "Thank you so much for your time, you were really helpful, I hope to see you again some day." "Are you sure you dont want to stay?" "I would like to but I have unfinished business here." "I understand, take care."
He shuts the vault and in that moment I snap out of my trance. It appeared almost no time passed. It was still daylight. As I open my eyes and reoriented myself, I noticed that slowly the room chatter had just died down and everyone was staring at me, some were drooling. All at once everyone started yelling, some in excitement, some in anger, some just to be rowdy. They were telling me how this changes everything, and I fit so well into some new plans and ideas. I didnt have to look in a mirror to know, I was different. My eyes were back to their normal color. I didn't have superpowers or heightened senses of awareness anymore. I was just going to go carry on with my life and do what I wanted. I said nothing, and walked through the crowd until i had one hand on the door. My buddy intercepted me, looking at me with dangerous red eyes.
"If you go out this door, i cannot help you. You're on your own."
But, I left anyways
