In this context, the notion of God having only one son could be analogous to defining a derived class, as opposed to specifically having only one instance of that class.
The derived class having access to protected resources of the parent class, and thus phrases such as "Jesus is the only way to God" and being "born again" could refer to individuals instantiating that derived class, "accepting Jesus into your heart" could refer to holding a reference to that instance in your own private context.
