Guns and knifes aren't the best weapons to deal with the teleps. You need to have strong faith, intelligence, and bravery to resist their telepathic abilities which are closely tied to telekineses as well. What's weird is that it only seems certain people have the ability to resist telepathic intrusions, like it is a baked-in evolutionary skill for some. Others will have to evolve themselves through the trials of nature. Almost like the elite and victors have been predefined before the engagement has ever happened. But if the teleps do manage to successfully intrude telepathically, expect to be hypnotized and intellectually contained for a while. It takes a long time and/or effort to be able to break yourself out of the telepathic curse.
