This first freaked me out about 7 years ago before I had ever heard about the Mandela effect. I was babysitting a friend's kid (I didn't have any kids of my own yet) and the boy asked me to read a Berenstain book to him. I read tons of them when I was a kid.
Anyways, I'm looking at the cover and I'm thinking, "Lol who the fuck is this BerenSTAIN trying to rip off the classic bear books." Like I legit thought it was some Chinese manufacturing defect or rip off series.
I asked my friend (the kids mom) and she's like "WTF are you talking about, its always been Berenstain?"
There's no way it was always Berenstain. I was one of those kids who won spelling bee competitions in elementary school and had excellent cursive penmanship. It was Berenstein. And my siblings and I would've laughed at the name BerenSTAIN and probably would've had an inside joke about it.
The Berenstain/stein thing is super weird.
